Easily activate our plug-ins by installing them with the Devious Machines Software Manager, or from inside the plugin by: selecting LICENSE from the menu and choosing LOGIN.

If you have an older installation of one of our plug-ins that does not have the LOGIN option shown above, please download and install the latest version. Alternatively, if you need to activate an older version or do not have access to the internet on your music computer, please follow the Manual Installation instructions below.

Rent-To-Own Software from Splice

Please follow these instructions for installing rent-to-own software via Splice.

If your Devious Machines software isn’t activated, please check that:

  • You have a current and active rent-to-own subscription for the software.
  • You have downloaded and installed the latest version of the Splice desktop app.
  • You have the Splice desktop app open, and are signed in using your Splice account.
  • Your Devious Machines software is up to date. You can install the latest versions via the Splice app, or by running the installers from the downloads section of this website.
  • You have restarted your DAW.

For billing enquiries relating to rent-to-own, or for support with the Splice app, please contact Splice support. If you are still having problems with your Devious Machines software, you can contact us.

Manual Installation

If you purchased a product licence from a reseller such as Plugin Boutique, are using an old product or if you need to license your product offline you can follow the instructions below.

Finding your licence code

If you purchased your product from deviousmachines.com, you can find your licence code:

  • In your email, from orders@deviousmachines.com.
  • Once you are logged in in, on the licences page inside MY ACCOUNT.

If you purchased your product from Plugin Boutique:

  • Log into the Plugin Boutique website.
  • In the MY ACCOUNT section, the licence code will be displayed under your product.

Installing your licence

1. Select the licence.

Include the ---START--- and ---END--- lines.

2. Copy the licence to your clipboard.

Mac: press Command-C. Windows: press Control-C. Or use the right click menu.

3. Open the plugin, and from its menu select License.

The menu is the or icon.

4. Click the license button.

This will copy the license from your clipboard.

Your product is now activated: you will see a confirmation.

Further help

Where are my login details?

Your login details will have been emailed to you in an email titled: “Your account on Devious Machines”. Ensure you log in using the same email address/account that you originally registered with when you purchased the product.

If you still cannot find them, please contact support.

Troubleshooting

If you purchased a licence code, but are seeing an error message when trying to activate the product check:

  • You are using the code for the product which you are trying to license. Each one is unique!
  • That you have copied the code correctly. Include the ---START--- and ---END--- lines and everything in between.

If it still doesn’t work then try installing using a text file, The instructions are below.

Installing using a text file

You can also try activating the product using a licence contained in a text file. To do this:

  • Windows users: open the Notepad application. Mac users: Open TextEdit, start a new document, go to the Format menu, and select Make Plain Text.
  • Copy the licence code, including the —START— and —END— lines, and paste it into your text document. Save the text document to somewhere on your disk (e.g. your documents folder).
  • Open the plugin, click on the gear or menu icon, and select License to open the licensing window.
  • Click the LOAD button. A file selector will now appear.
  • Navigate to and select the licence text document which you just saved.
  • Your licence should now load, and the plugin will activate.
